On Sunday morning we headed for the one thing we were sure wasn’t closed: the beach!
After a delightful night curled up in a soft, cushy hotel bed and a breakfast of kale smoothies to pre-atone for our later culinary sins, we headed off to see Drayton Hall. We’d done some research, and discovered that of the approximately 4 plantations in the Charleston area, only Drayton Hall still had the original plantation house.
Scott and I arrived in Charleston, South Carolina (yes, yes, this blog is about North Carolina, but hey, gotta get to know your neighbors, right?) late on Friday afternoon, the day after Christmas, checked into our hotel, and immediately headed for the beach. Well, the ocean. Well . . . the harbor. Whatever.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Scott, Sasso, and I piled into our little red car and drove up to a northern suburb of Washington DC, to spend a few days with some friends, Jeannette and Daniel. Continue reading
